Century City Chamber councils create opportunities for Chamber members to foster relationships with one another on a consistent basis, and to also plan programs and events for the local business community.

From the arts to real estate, health and more, our councils and committees plan a wide variety of events in a wide variety of industries; from networking mixers, business seminars, financial workshops and more, our councils and committees focus on diverse business topics, and recreational and social activities.

ARTS & CULTURAL AFFAIRS COUNCIL

The mission of the Arts & Cultural Affairs Council (ACAC) is to enhance quality of life and provide leadership in Century City and its surrounding communities through the promotion and support of a broad range of artistic activities and initiatives. As a development arm of the Century City Chamber, the Council serves as a catalyst for and a major contributor to the economic and cultural vitality of this community and all its adults and children.

Since 1983, the Chamber bestows its highest civic award, Citizen of the Year, to an individual and/or organization that best exemplifies excellence in corporate and community relations. Past recipients have included:

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS & ENTREPRENEURS COUNCIL (EPEC)
EMERGING PROFESSIONALS & ENTREPRENEURS COUNCIL (EPEC)

The Emerging Professionals and Entrepreneurs Council (EPEC) provides networking opportunities for young professionals, focused on establishing strong relationships, fostering business development in the community and participating with Chamber members through volunteer activities and fundraising events.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COUNCIL
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COUNCIL

The Emergency Preparedness Council has undertaken the important goal of developing an integrated emergency planning process and plan that will mitigate business and community disruption and personal injury in the event of a crisis or disaster in Century City. The Council works with building managers, businesses, government officials and agencies, including law enforcement, fire department, FBI and Homeland Security. The plan facilitates mutual support and aid among businesses and residents of Century City, supplementing the standard emergency services and response provided by the City and County of Los Angeles. The Council will continue to update their plans, have periodic practice exercises and take actions necessary to provide a viable response in the event of an emergency.

GOLF TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
GOLF TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

The Golf Tournament Committee plans the Annual Golf Tournament, which is a great opportunity to mingle with prominent professionals, play golf and socialize. The tournament is among the largest Chamber golf tournaments in the country. The day’s activities run from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and include breakfast and lunch. The day culminates with a fun-filled and entertaining Awards Dinner Banquet and Silent Auction.

The Government Affairs Council examines initiatives and legislative issues, with economic and civic impact to the business community, that are relevant to Century City. It is through the Government Affairs Council that dialogue on key issues can be addressed. Council members are kept informed through participation on the Westside Neighborhood Council and liaison with local and state government agencies, and the community at large.

HEALTH CARE COUNCIL (HCC)

The Health Care Council (HCC) mission is to raise awareness and promote discussion on key issues impacting the health and development of the public. HCC programs advocate a healthy lifestyle and focus on topics that range from medical insurance to alternative medicine. Information is provided on the latest developments in healthcare and activities that lead to emotional and physical well-being.

LAW & BUSINESS COUNCIL
LAW & BUSINESS COUNCIL

The Law & Business Council represents companies involved in production, marketing and distribution of various services and products, as well as professional service firms engaged in legal, accounting, banking, financial advisory, and professional consulting and general business activities. The mission of the Law & Business Council is to inform, educate, and advocate, i.e.

  • To raise awareness of, and promote a continuing dialogue on contemporary business issues; this is accomplished through various activities, including the Council’s special executive forums;
  • To offer its members consistent opportunities for education on matters affecting their professions and the business environment;
  • To help its members build meaningful and lasting relationships with one another and, via this network, promote the commercial growth of its members and commerce in the community

The Marketing and Membership Council strives to be an advocate of the Chamber by serving as the liaison between the Chamber and its members, assisting the Chamber in developing strategies for Membership development and retention, and assisting the Chamber in creating membership benefits and services.

TRANSPORTATION & LAND USE COUNCIL
TRANSPORTATION & LAND USE COUNCIL

The Transportation & Land Use Council addresses issues of mobility to and around the Century City area.  This Council reviews long term transportation plans and proposed improvements currently under review by state and local agencies for Century City and the Westside. This Council’s focus is to provide the business community and others with information about transportation issues and proposed solutions that affect all of us that live and work within the Century City community.

WOMEN’S BUSINESS COUNCIL (WBC)

The mission of the Women’s Business Council (WBC) is to encourage the professional development of its members in an environment characterized by partnership, philanthropy and education. WBC is a group of dynamic hardworking executives and entrepreneurial leaders who serve Chamber members and the community at large by providing business development, networking opportunities, professional education and resources.

Each year, the WBC holds the annual Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon to honor and recognize individuals for their professional dedication, charitable involvement and commitment to excellence, which are an inspiration to all.
